If you read the Springfield Sun you would not know that the Republican Minority on the Board of Commissioners STOPPED the tax on property owners (about 620) that live with in 75 feet of a stream or water body in the Township. Your 3 Republican Commissioners stood up to the majority and would not allow mandatory rules requiring the property owners to spend about $60 per foot of stream footage ($120 if you owned 2 sides of the stream). In lieu of a forced tax that REQUIRED 75 feet of buffer, your Republican Commissioners were able to have our proposal of voluntary measures through an education process that will allow the property owner to make their own decisions on how to use THEIR property.
Additionally, the Republican Board was able to IMPLEMENT a program, first suggested by Mike Lawrence - Commissioner candidate in Ward 4, to install a demonstration program for the Riparian Corridor in Cisco Park. Again the genesis for the idea and any republican involvement was not noted in the Springfield Sun.
The Candidate's running for your Republican Team Need your support.
Mike Lawrence - Ward 4 and Jim Dailey Ward 6
If someone (or more) would send a note to the Sun about their misrepresentation of the matter it could make the goal of a Republican Majority a little easier to attain
Thank you for your efforts!
